Houston Cares Book Project


Houston Cares Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Houston Cares is a community of animal lovers working together to make a difference for animals in Houston by providing foster homes for homeless pets along with education, spay/neutering, and being an advocate for changes in our state and local legislation.

We have raised over $10,350 for local charities with previous book projects

For each book project we have done we receive 800+ applicants but only choose 100 dogs and their families for this experience!  While we may not be able to provide individual responses to every applicant, please rest assured that we carefully read every heartfelt story, and our hearts swell with gratitude, knowing the profound love your pet has brought into your life.
Applications will undergo continuous review, and from these, we will choose a select group to feature in this year’s “Rescued” book.

The Details

  • Inclusion of a double-page spread in the esteemed book titled “Rescued”
  • The privilege of selecting the photograph that will grace your designated page within the Coffee Table Book.
  • The opportunity to acquire printed artworks featuring your beloved pet from our exclusive art collection, as well as the chance to purchase your personal copy of “Rescued” for display on your coffee table! 
  • You will receive a $250 studio gift voucher to use towards purchasing wall art from your session. This gift voucher can not be used towards purchasing the finished coffee table book.
* The registration fee does not cover the cost of Printed Photographic Artwork, which can be acquired separately. Additionally, the published book is not part of the registration fee and will be offered for purchase during your design consultation.

What is the Process?

Submit your pet's application by filling out the form below.

Step 2

Book Your Session

If selected someone from our John Glaser Photography team will contact you to discuss your application, answer any questions you have and talk about the details of the session.

Step 3

Book Your Custom Photo Shoot

Successful applicants will pay the $200 registration fee and select a date/time for their custom photo shoot. $100 of the registration fee will be a donation to Houston Cares and $100 will be a deposit to hold your session date/time. The deposit can be applied to your own personal purchases from your sesion.

Step 4

Design Consultation & Purchasing Appointment

During the design/purchase appointment we will go through your photos with you and participants will have the opportunity to purchase wall art from their session and be able to apply their $250 studio gift voucher towards their Wall Art/Print purchases.

We are conveniently located at 3522 South Mason Road, near 99 in Katy, Texas.

Everyone who participates will receive a COMPLIMENTARY photo session with John Glaser Photography.

Included Gift: You will also receive a $250 GIFT CERTIFICATE to use towards your portrait/digital purchase.

Total Value: $550

You will also be included in our coffee table book “Rescued” 

Absolutely! We’ll send you emails with all the info you need to prepare for your session. Plus, we’re just a phone call or text away for any questions you might have.

Personal Touch: Our studio manager will reach out to you after you book your session to help you prepare and ensure you have the best experience possible.

Our sessions typically last 45 minutes to 1 hour, giving us plenty of time to capture a variety of photos and looks you’ll love for a lifetime.

Personalized Product Tour: After the session, you’ll get an in-person tour of our product and wall art display options.

Zoom Purchase Appointment: We’ll then set up a Zoom appointment where you can view your photos and we’ll help you design the perfect products to fit your budget and home.

While your session is on us, we do charge a $200  deposit. $100 of the deposit will be a donation/participation fee that will go to Houston Cares Animal Rescue, and $100 will be used as a deposit to hold your session date/time. The deposit can be applied to your personal purchases from your session.  

There’s no obligation to purchase, but you’ll have the chance to view your amazing photographs during a Zoom session, scheduled after your photoshoot. The Zoom purchase appointments usually take place within 2-5 days after your session. 

Average Spend: Our clients typically invest around $1300-$3000+ on their final purchases.

Flexible Payment Plans: We offer various payment plans, including our own credit card through Synchrony Bank, featuring a promotional rate of 12 months with zero % interest!
