While we love meeting and photographing dogs in our studio, the reality is that many public places don’t allow dogs. Whether you’re going out for the day, a dinner date, or to watch your daughter’s soccer game—having a go-to reliable doggy daycare is necessary.
Don’t waste your time sifting through an endless list of doggy daycares in the Houston area. This is a local’s guide to amazing doggy daycares in Houston (you’re sure to find the right fit for your dog on this list):
1. Dogtopia of Katy
If you live near Katy, you could drop your dog off at Dogtopia of Katy! While there are several Dogtopia locations in Greater Houston, this location is near and dear to John’s heart because he takes his dog here! It’s right down the street from our Katy photography studio.
To take your dog to any Dogtopia location, you’ll need to schedule a quick (20 to 30-minute) meet and greet that includes an evaluation. The assessment aims to ensure your pup will be happy and comfortable during their time at Dogtopia. It consists of a wellness check, response to staff interactions, comfort level in a crate, reaction to “open play” with other dogs (varying by size, breed, and temperament), and overall observations. Your dog will also need to be up-to-date on their vaccines!
Dogtopia of Katy offers half-day packages, full-day packages, overnight packages, long-term boarding packages, and spa services.

One of the other reasons we’ve given Dogtopia our number-one spot is because of the amazing Dogtopia Foundation. Their goal is to use dogs to paw-positively change the world. The foundation’s three pillars follow:
- Raising money to sponsor service dogs for military veterans
- Raising money for youth literacy programs
- Offering employment opportunities to adults with autism
John Glaser Photography is currently working on a book project in partnership with Dogtopia of Katy and the Dogtopia Foundation. We have raised over $6,000—the number is continuing to grow! The picture book will be published early next year. We can’t wait to share more details with you in the coming weeks and months.
John says, “We’ve been doing a partnership book project with Dogtopia and the Dogtopia Foundation. When I saw the Dogtopia Foundation, I thought this was a place I wanted to partner with because I’m passionate about all three pillars. Also, our dog goes to Dogtopia and absolutely loves it. She goes there all the time!”
2. Jackson’s Place — Houston’s Orginal Unleashed Pet Resort
Jackson’s Place is a highly-rated doggy daycare in Houston that has been around for almost 20 years! This facility is a bit different because not only do they offer doggy daycare, overnight stays, boarding, and grooming—they have a training academy!
If you’re planning a trip, you could board your dog at Jackson’s Place and choose one of their dog training packages.
One of the major benefits of taking your dog to this doggy daycare is it’s a cage-free pet resort. They aim to provide physical and mental stimulation to meet all of your pet’s needs. You can watch your pup play in the play yard, small dog room, and large dog room through their three live-feed cameras!

Houston’s Bark Park and Daycare

Your dog is guaranteed a great time at Houston’s Bark Park and Daycare; they have ample outdoor play areas with misting fans, pools, bubble cannons, and splash pads! There are three locations throughout Houston—making it easily accessible no matter where you’re in the city. They’ll just need to pass the temperament test and stay in good behavioral standing to continue enjoying the facilities!
If you’re lucky enough to live near one of the locations, you can become a member to access their private dog parks whenever your pup wants to play.
There are two daycare programs: free play daycare and enrichment academy. The “free play” package offers larger play areas, bigger packs, and unlimited amenities. It’s $40 per day, but you can also opt for the half-day option. The Enrichment Academy is only available for full days—offering more mental enrichment, smaller packs, structured activities, and more one-on-one time. This package is $50 per day!
Houston’s Bark Park and Daycare also offers boarding and bathing services. You can watch your sweet pup play by viewing their live-feed cameras!
4. Camp Bow Wow
The concept behind Camp Bow Wow is adorable—Certified Camp Counselors® will ensure your dog gets exercise, socialization, and mental enrichment during their stay. This Katy, Texas doggy daycare has indoor and outdoor play yards for your pup to enjoy. Each dog that stays overnight gets to sleep in an individual “cozy cabin.” This place makes it feel like you sent your sweet pup to have an awesome time at summer camp!
Camp Bow Wow offers doggy daycare, dog boarding, and dog training programs. Their “Live Camper Cams” allow you to check on your camper and take snapshots if you catch a cute moment! The pictures won’t be the same quality as a pet portrait session with us, but they’ll help you rest assured that your dog is doing fine while you’re away.

5. Happy Snoutz Pet Resort

Happy Snoutz Pet Resort is another highly-rated Houston doggy daycare. This facility welcomes small to medium-sized dogs who may feel overwhelmed in other daycares.
Happy Snoutz Pet Resort offers daycare, grooming, and boarding services. During the day, your pup will have plenty of time to socialize with other dogs as staff members supervise.
It’s a cage-free environment that offers beds, toys, and plenty of space for your pup to explore.
This might be the best option if you’re looking for a really relaxing place to board your furry friend. Your dog will be comfortable sleeping in their warm, cozy kennel. Happy Snoutz takes the idea of being a “pet resort” very seriously—dogs staying overnight enjoy relaxing music and calming, soft color-changing lights. It’s a great facility for pets with separation anxiety!
